What to Expect
Before you arrive, please read through this helpful information on what to expect for parking, weather, tours, accessibility and bathrooms.
GETTING HERE
Tables at The Hatchery are first come first serve. Please only park in our designated areas inside the wharf, and not along Callis Wharf Rd. We unfortunately do not have docking to accommodate boats at this time but we hope to in the future! Please mind our neighbors and the speed limit of 25 mph along Callis Wharf. Thank you!
OUR OYSTERS
Oyster Seed Holdings is a hatchery-specific company on the "growing edge" of shellfish culture. In a nutshell, we grow millions and millions of oyster larvae and seed per year and sell them to farmers, where the farms grow them to market size. It is an important part of our mission to cultivate community pride and connection to today's dynamic aquaculture industry. In doing so, we offer tours of our facility every other Friday (May through August), and we are now launching The Hatchery, this new oyster-centric food truck eatery for people to experience the "cradle to grave" lifecycle of an oyster! Every few weeks, we feature oysters from different oyster farms in the region and prepare them fresh, fried and roasted at our oyster bar!

Bathrooms & Accessibility
Please be aware that we regret that our facility at Callis Wharf is not currently ADA accessible. Guests should expect to navigate graveled areas for parking and dining areas.

We provide clean porta-o-potties at our facility with a washing station. We appreciate you embracing our rustic aquaculture facility on the historic Callis Wharf!

Tours
OSH also offers hatchery tours and tastings every other Friday, May through August, where you will get a 30 minute tour of our hatchery facility, then enjoy a complimentary tasting of raw oysters paired with wines. Guests are welcome to stay afterwards and enjoy the food truck and atmosphere as long as they like.
On tour Fridays, we have limited tables available for just our waterfront dining experience, but guests can still walk up and grab an open table if available without doing the tour.

SHELL recyclinG
As you can imagine, we go through some oysters at The Hatchery! We partner with multiple oyster shell recycling programs, such as the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and VCU. These programs recover shell from restaurants and funnel it back into oyster restoration programs where this shell is used for rebuilding oyster reefs in the Bay!
